Hello and welcome! This marks the beginning of an ambitious, dual-track journey to become both an AI/ML engineer and a cybersecurity professional.
This blog is a place to document progress, share learnings, and provide an honest, practical resource for anyone stepping into these complex, ever-evolving fields.
Why This Journey?
With about a month of Python experience under the belt, it’s time to dive deep into both artificial intelligence/machine learning and cybersecurity certifications like CompTIA A+, Security+, Network+, and eventually OSCP.
Why both? Because AI and cybersecurity are increasingly intertwined — from automated threat detection to protecting AI systems themselves. Developing skills across these domains opens up diverse career paths and a well-rounded understanding of modern technology challenges.
What Are The Goals?
Master core AI/ML skills: programming, math foundations, machine learning algorithms, deep learning, and deployment.
Earn key cybersecurity certifications: CompTIA A+ (foundations), Security+ (security essentials), Network+ (networking), and OSCP (offensive security).
Build a solid project portfolio: real code, real deployments, real labs — not just theory.
Share learning honestly: no ego, no pretending to be an expert — just steady, disciplined progress.
What to Expect From This Blog
Each week, a structured update will be posted covering these four sections:
What I Learned This Week
Detailed notes on concepts, tools, and practical exercises tackled — sometimes code snippets or math explanations when helpful.
Challenges Faced
What tripped me up or slowed progress, and how those obstacles were overcome.
Cool Resources Found
Books, courses, articles, videos, or communities that helped get unstuck or deepen understanding.
Next Week’s Focus
Learning goals for the following week — for accountability and preview.
How Time Is Organized
Balancing two complementary learning tracks, roughly dividing weekly study time between:
AI/ML engineering: following Codecademy’s Python and machine learning paths, plus math, deep learning, and projects.
Cybersecurity: studying for CompTIA certifications, learning Linux and SQL, building networking knowledge, and prepping for OSCP labs.
It’s a lot — but chunked week-by-week with clear goals, it’s manageable.
Why Share This Publicly?
Writing publicly keeps honesty and motivation high, connects with others on similar paths, and helps solidify knowledge by teaching — the best way to learn complex material.
Invitation
If you’re starting or considering a journey into AI, cybersecurity, or both — follow along! This blog aims to help navigate the maze, avoid common pitfalls, and build practical skills without fluff.
Thanks for reading. The first weekly update will be coming soon. Until then — keep learning and stay curious.
